Looking back, I can truly say MRL®-Edu changed my life. From my first steps in boarding school, through my foundation programme and undergraduate studies in England, to now pursuing a master’s degree in the United States, they’ve been with me every step of the way. MRL® encouraged me to aim higher and opened doors I never imagined I could walk through.

Today, I’m studying International Economics and Finance at Johns Hopkins SAIS, after graduating from Durham University, and I’m working towards becoming an investment professional. My advice to future students is simple: trust the guidance MRL® gives you, grab every opportunity and never say “no” to yourself before someone else does.

My experience with my tutor, Dr. Roni Ajao, was truly exceptional. At many points, she went far beyond what is typically expected of a college tutor. Her professional guidance, practical help, and emotional support were invaluable in helping me navigate the challenges of Cambridge. What stood out most was how refreshing it was to see such a renowned and accomplished individual remain so humble and approachable. She was always willing to help, not out of mere duty, but out of genuine kindness and care for her students. She not only guided me academically but also encouraged me personally, and I remain deeply grateful for her dedication.

For those considering a similar path, my biggest piece of advice is to be audacious. Have the courage to apply, even if it feels daunting. Come with a clear game plan: seek out internships, immerse yourself in different experiences, and put yourself in environments that challenge you. Learn widely, form opinions, and equip yourself with the knowledge to defend them. Strive for a balance between curiosity and expertise. And perhaps most importantly, make sure you have a strong support network of family and friends, you will need them along the way.

My journey with MRL®-Edu has shaped the person I am today. I first came across the service when I joined the Royal Hospital School in Year 10. At the time, I was still figuring out what direction I wanted my future to take, however, I was provided with the tools, guidance, and encouragement I needed by MRL®. What stood out to me most was the consistent message to aim high and never doubt myself. That sense of belief gave me the confidence to set ambitious goals and work towards them with determination.

Through MRL®-Edu’s support, I was able to develop a clear academic focus and pursue my passion for law. My journey continued at the University of Exeter, where I studied law, and later at BPP University, where I completed my LPC LLM. Looking back, I can confidently say that the structure, encouragement, and values I gained along the way played a vital role in my growth and resilience throughout my studies. Today, as a qualified lawyer, I can directly trace this achievement back to the opportunities and motivation MRL®-Edu gave me. It has been a transformative experience and one I will always value.
